Pokwang and Eugene Domingo film 'Becky and Badette' adds laughter to this year's Metro Manila Film Festival

There's nothing quite like sharing laughter during the holiday season.

If you're looking for a delightful time with your loved ones this Christmas, The Ideafirst Company's “Becky and Badette” has got you covered.

Starring two of the Philippines' funniest comediennes, Pokwang and Eugene Domingo, the movie tells the story of two best friends with big dreams.

In Cata Tibayan's report on “24 Oras,” Thursday, Pokwang shared that “Becky and Badette” was a joy to make.

“Sobrang nakakatawa lang, laughtrip lang ang pelikula,” she said.

[The movie is just so hilarious, a complete laugh trip.]

One of the things viewers need to look forward to in the movie are the punchlines, of course!

“Magpa punchline kami, tapos magugustuhan ni Direk. ‘Ay nagustuhan ko ‘yun ulitin nyo ‘yun.’ Tapos bibigyan niya ng special shot tapos sasabihin ni Uge, ‘sige punchline pa more, uumagahin tayo,” Pokwang recalled.

[We'd deliver a punchline, then Direk would be pleased and say, 'Oh, I liked that, do it again.' Then he'd give us a special shot, and Uge would say, 'Alright, more punchlines, we’ll be here until morning.]

“Becky and Badette” is among the 10 official entries in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival, written and directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Jun Robles Lana.

Apart from “Becky and Badette,” this year's MMFF features other must-see movies such as GMA Public Affairs and GMA Pictures' flagship movie, “Firefly,” “'Rewind” starring Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes, and “A Mother and Son's Story” starring Sharon Cuneta and Alden Richards, among others.
