Lea Salonga and Lin-Manuel Miranda reunite at 'Stephen Sondheim's Old Friends'
Lea Salonga and Lin-Manuel Miranda recently got to meet up again.
The two theater icons reunited in the West End for the production of “Stephen Sondheim's Old Friends” which Lea stars in.
Lea posted a selfie with Lin on Instagram.
“Always nice to have friends in the crowd,” the Filipina actress and singer said in her caption. “Thanks for visiting @sondheimfriends, @lin_manuel!!!!!!!”
Lea and Lin are longtime friends. In 2015, they sang a version of “A Whole New World” from the Disney film “Aladdin” for #Ham4Ham, a daily lottery where fans can win front row tickets to “Hamilton.”
“Stephen Sondheim's Old Friends” marks Lea’s return to the West End in 27 years after her run on “Les Miserables.” She stars with multi-award-winning actress Bernadette Peters, who had her West End debut with the show.
Lea previously appeared as Aurora Aquino on the Broadway production of “Here Lies Love,” the musical about the rise and fall of Imelda Marcos.
Meanwhile, Lin-Manuel is the genius behind “Hamilton,” the rap musical that follows the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton.
The award-winning musical made its Asian premiere in the Philippines in September at The Theater at Solaire. “Hamilton” extended its run to November 26 and released more tickets.
Lin is also set to portray Hermes in the upcoming "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" series on Disney+.
