Taylor Swift wins big, Jungkook of BTS makes history at MTV EMAs

The MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) pushed through with honoring today’s top artists despite the canceled show.

Taylor Swift was the most nominated artist of the ceremony with seven. The superstar won Best Artist, Best Live, and Best Video for “Anti-Hero.”

Meanwhile, Jungkook of BTS made history at the awards. He was the first Korean solo artist to win Best Song for his top hit “Seven (feat. Latto).” He also won Best K-Pop.

Jungkook was set to perform at the show before it was canceled.

Fellow K-Pop act TOMORROW X TOGETHER was named Best Push.

Moira Dela Torre was the only Filipino act nominated for the Best Asia Act category. However, the award went to Japanese boyband Be:First.

The MTV EMAs was supposed to be held in Paris, France on November 5, but the ceremony was canceled amid the Israel-Gaza crisis.

The full list of winners is now up on the MTV EMAs website. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
