Tourists flock to Baguio City for Undas break
Tourists have been taking full advantage of their Undas break by embarking on out-of-town trips, and one of the popular destinations is Baguio City.
According to Jasmin Gabriel-Galban's report on “24 Oras,” Tuesday, among the places in the city that tourists have been visiting is Camp John Hay, where they are greeted by spooky Halloween displays.
This is also quite timely, as the City of Pines recently recorded its coldest temperature of the Amihan season at 15.6°C.
Inside, it has hanging coffins and thick spider webs displayed, perfect for that Halloween Instagram post!
The Cemetery of Negativism is also located inside the camp, which is a go-to spot for those who are trying to move on from painful experiences as it is a place where negativity is put to rest.
“Maganda din ‘yung nature tsaka ‘yung malamig. Bawas ang stress,” a visitor said.
[The surroundings are beautiful, and it's cool as well. It reduces stress.]
“Gusto lang po naming makapagbakasyon po habang mahaba-haba pa ‘yung bakasyon,” another tourist said.
[We just want to go on vacation while the break is long.]
Meanwhile, fresh flowers are currently available in the city 24/7, but their supply is limited, leading to increased prices.
However, vendors have announced that starting tomorrow, on All Saints Day, there will be no further price increases on the flowers.
“Kasi ‘yung Bagyong Egay kaya kakaunti ang supply ngayon. ‘Yung iba, dahil kulang ‘yung araw, ‘di gaanong bumubuka,” a vendor said.
[Because of Typhoon Egay, the supply is currently limited. For some, due to the shortened days, they aren't fully blooming.]
