'Ghost Fighter (Yu Yu Hakusho)' live action to premiere on Netflix in December

Netflix's live action adaptation of "Ghost Figher," or "Yu Yu Hakusho," just got a release date!

According to a video announcement, it will premiere on Netflix on December 14.

Based on the manga series by Yoshihiro Togashi, the show promises to "breathe new life into the story, and fans old and new can expect to encounter their favorite characters in ways that have never been seen before."

In a statement, Netflix said they took the same level of commitment to quality and authenticity in the live action "One Piece" to the production of "Yu Yu Hakusho."

Production took five years to complete. It was first announced by Netflix in 2020.

"Yu Yu Hakusho" was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump for four years from 1990. The story was adapted into anime in 1992.

The anime was aired on GMA Network as "Ghost Fighter" in 1999.
