5 PENTAGON members leave Cube Entertainment
Five members of the K-pop boy group PENTAGON have decided to not renew their contracts with Cube Entertainment.
As reported by Soompi, the agency said in a statement that Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok’s contracts have expired.
However, the group will not disband.
“We’d like to express our deep gratitude to Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok who have been with us on this long journey of [seven] years, and we wish them nothing but happiness in their future endeavors,” Cube said.
They also asked fans to continue supporting the members as they embark on a new chapter.
Following the announcement, Yeo One shared a heartfelt handwritten letter on Instagram.
The singer said that he “felt the need for a fresh challenge in order to present a better version of myself to UNIVERSE, my fellow members, and those who support us.”
He also assured fans that even though he is parting ways with the agency, he will remain a member of PENTAGON.
“I will always stand alongside UNIVERSE as a member of PENTAGON in the future too, just as I am today. As a member of PENTAGON, I will become Yeo Chang Gu, Yeo One who always works hard and grows to make PENTAGON shine.”
Kino meanwhile posted photos of PENTAGON on his Instagram Stories.
“PENTAGON never dies,” he wrote. “What is ‘disbandment?’ Haha. Is it something you eat?”
Wooseok, Yeo One, and Hongseok reposted Kino’s IG Story. Hongseok also posted a group photo and wrote, “I was always there, and I’ll always be there.”
PENTAGON, a nine-member band, debuted in 2016.
They dropped their 12th mini-album “IN:VITE: U” in 2022. Their latest single “Love is Pain,” was released last September. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
