After winning 'Drag Race Philippines' S2, Captivating Katkat gives short but impactful speech
Captivating Katkat, the newly crowned Drag Race Superstar, said winning Season 2 of "Drag Race Philippines" just proved that age is not a hindrance in reaching your dreams.
In an exclusive crowning event on Wednesday night held in Whitespace Manila, the 43-year-old O Bar legend delivered a short but impactful speech after Precious Paula Nicole, the first Philippine Drag Race Superstar crowned her.
“Maraming, maraming salamat! Ito lang ang pagpapatunay na hindi hadlang ang edad para maabot ang ating mga pangarap,” she added.
[Thank you very much! This is proof that age isn't a hindrance to reaching for our dreams.]
Katkat shed light on how hard the journey was for her to earn the title of Drag Race Superstar.
“Sobra sobra ‘yung pinagdaanan ko sa season na ‘to, during shoot and after,” she said. “Thank you so much, Lord, maraming salamat for hearing my prayers.”
[I went through so much this season, during and after the shoot. Thank you so much, Lord, thank you for hearing my prayers.]
“And to all my bashers and haters, ang saya tih!” she ended.
In the finale episode of "Drag Race Philippines" Season 2, Katkat became the ultimate winner after she won against Arizona Brandy in a "lip sync for the crown" battle to the tune of "Kapangyarihan" by iDolls.
Katkat's prizes include a one-year supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics and P1 million powered by a live streaming app, Kumu.
The newly crowned drag superstar was a strong contender all throughout the season, winning two Ru Badges, and excelling in runway challenges. Among her most memorable performances include her impeccable impersonation of Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte.
