Dennis Trillo reveals it took years of convincing before he finally joined TikTok

Dennis Trillo is among the Kapuso stars who have been making waves on TikTok! But did you know it took him years of convincing before he finally hopped on the app?

“Ang totoo po n’yan, ilang taon na rin akong kinu-kumbinsi na mag-TikTok,” he said on Friday's “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.” 

“Siguro mga pandemic days pa po, before pandemic pa dahil sinasabi nila, ng management na, ‘Oh, kailangan mo ‘yan dahil ito na ‘yung profile na tinitingnan ngayon,’” Dennis continued.

[I think it started pandemic, even before the pandemic when management would tell me I need to join because that's what people are looking at now.]

Dennis eventually gave in and joined TikTok this year — to much aplomb. His "beshy" take was among the most original, while his "Price Tag" challenge  was funny and entertaining. He felt fans giggling with his usage of the age filter too.

According to Dennis, he initially felt shy so he took inspiration from other creators and studied how he can best enjoy the platform.

“Hindi ako sumasayaw eh, tsaka hindi rin ako masyadong mahilig magpa-cute. Kaya ginagawa ko na lang nakakatawa ‘yung mga videos,” Dennis said.

[I don't dance, I also don't do the cute stuff, so I decided to make my videos funny.]

He shared that if someone was in the same room as him when he was about to do a TikTok video, he would ask the person to leave.

“Labas ka muna d’yan, magti-TikTok lang ako saglit,” he said.

Dennis has an upcoming series, “Love Before Sunrise,” opposite Bea Alonzo.

Joining Bea and Dennis are Andrea Torres, Sid Lucero, Nadia Montenegro, Sef Cadayona, Cheska Fausto, and Vince Maristela.
