Lauv writes love letter to Filipino fans: ‘I just want the best for you’
Who needs a boyfriend when you’ve got Lauv? Get this — he just wrote the sweetest love letter for you!
Along with pictures and videos of his time in the Philippines — including his concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, where he wore a modernized Barong Tagalog — Lauv reflected on his experiences.
“I woke up like 14 hours ago but I feel like I’ve accomplished a lifetime of events in one second,” he said.
“You guys make me feel SO at home I can’t even describe it. It’s like…we’ve always been this close but now I realize it.”
The singer-songwriter looked back on his first time in Manila in 2017 for a series of mall shows and recalled how "I couldn’t even walk through the mall without y’all running after me (which was a trip).”
Lauv also said that when he came back in 2019, “and I was mad depressed but the show had to go on.”
He added, “Actually, to be totally honest, I was so bad that I thought about cancelling the tour and going home. But we shot the [‘Sad Forever’] music video together in this space and I cried.”
Lauv expressed his love and appreciation for his Filipino fans.
“I love you guys. Like family. Like I’m watching [you] as [your] dad and I just want the best for you perpetually,” he said.
“You shine so bright, sing so loud, bleed [your] hearts dry for music. You have soul. I can’t explain it. It’s just different here,” Lauv added.
Lauv even promised, “You. And I. And [Jollibee]. Next year (hopefully, gotta get this album done).”
Aside from his concert, Lauv surprised fans with a performance at a Jollibee branch.
Last year, sent Filipino fans into a frenzy, when he tweeted, “mahal ko kayo.”
Previously, he met OPM singer Zack Tabudlo.
Lauv released a demo titled “Talking to Myself” last March. His most recent album “All 4 Nothing” dropped in August 2022. Among his hit songs are “I Like Me Better,” “i’m so tired…,” “Paris in the Rain,” and “Without You.”
