'One Piece' live action producers already 'got scripts ready' for potential Season 2

After the success of the "One Piece" live action at Netflix, the question on everyone's mind is: Will there be more seasons?

As far as its production company Tomorrow Studios is concerned, they're ready as soon as they're given the green light.

“We’ve got scripts ready,” Marty Adelstein, CEO of Tomorrow Studios, told Variety.

The report added that the potential second season would not be able to kick off production until the SAG-AFTRA strike against the AMPTP has been resolved.

Tomorrow Studios president Becky Clements said that once they’re allowed to resume production, they could launch Season 2 as early as next year.

“Realistically, hopefully, a year away, if we move very quickly, and that is a possibility,” Clements said. “Somewhere between a year and 18 months, we could be ready for air.”

Netflix has yet to announce whether "One Piece" is getting renewed for a second season, but fans are hopeful given its reception.

Since its premiere on August 31, the show has become the top watched title around the globe, garnering a whopping 18.5 million views in just four days of release.

It reached the Top 10 in 93 countries, and debuted at #1 in 46.

"One Piece" is based on the manga by Eiichiro Oda, who is one of the show's executive producers.

The story was serialized in 1997 and is still ongoing, making it one of the longest-running manga series in existence. It spawned an anime with the same name in 1999.

It follows Monkey D. Luffy and his crew as they sail the seas to search for the One Piece, a legendary treasure, and ultimately become King of the Pirates. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
