'Kimi ni Todoke' gets Season 3, to stream on Netflix in 2024
After 12 years, "Kimi ni Todoke" is finally getting a Season 3!
According to a report from Anime News Network, the third season of the popular rom-com anime will be streaming on Netflix next year. The first two seasons are already available on the platform.
Production I.G will once again be in charge of animation, while voice actors Daisuke Namikawa and Mamiko Noto will reprise their roles as Shouta Kazehaya and Sawako Kuronuma.
Based on a manga of the same name by Karuho Shiina, "Kimi ni Todoke" first aired in 2009 and a second season followed in 2011.
The story follows a high school student named Sawako, who gets alienated from her peers because of her resemblance with a character from a horror movie.
After meeting the popular Kazehaya, however, she slowly comes out of her shell and experiences friendship and love for the first time.
The original "Kimi ni Todoke" manga was published by Shueisha in 2005 and was completed in 2017.
It was adapted into a live action film in 2010 and a live action series with 12 episodes was also released by Netflix this year.
