The Parokya ni Edgar musical is officially happening, and you can guess the title for a special prize
The Parokya ni Edgar musical is officially happening!
The jukebox show will feature the songs of the OPM rock band, as confirmed by Newport World Resorts’ production outfit Full House Theater Company.
As Parokya and theater fans await more details, the company announced that they will be hosting a game to guess the musical’s title.
On September 8, at exactly 3 p.m., participants can tune in to NWR Musicals' official Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok accounts. The first 30 individuals who guess correctly on each platform will receive an exclusive invitation to a special preview of the show ahead of its public premiere.
To qualify, users must follow the social media channels and join using a legitimate and public social media account.
The Parokya musical was first announced during the final curtain call of “Ang Huling El Bimbo” at the Newport Performing Arts Theater last July. The full cast sang Parokya’s classic hit “Harana.” As they were performing, symbols flashed on the screen behind them, representing some of the band’s top hits.
Parokya vocalist and “The Voice Generations” judge Chito Miranda reacted to the performance on Instagram, saying, “Nakakakilabot.”
Full House Theater Company is the same group behind the “Ang Huling El Bimbo” musical, which follows a group of four friends, who navigate university life. Later on as adults, their past gives them problems with their work and personal lives. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
