Inka Magnaye 'speechless' after watching 'Blue Beetle': 'Me! In a DC movie!'
Inka Magnaye couldn't contain her happiness after watching "Blue Beetle" in cinemas on Wednesday.
The voice actress and internet personality shared a photo of the premiere on Facebook, writing, "I’M IN A DC MOVIE."
"The emotions going through me when I heard my voice on the big screen last night left me speechless. Me! In a DC movie!! And my whole family was there!! And some lines were in Filipino!" she added.
In the Philippine release of "Blue Beetle," Inka voices Scarab, an ancient alien relic pivotal to the titular DC Super Hero's story.
"My voice aside, the movie was SO MUCH FUN," she said. "It was cool, exciting, kinda retro (felt some ‘93 nostalgia), hella funny, and highly relatable especially to a Filipino audience!! The movie is out in cinemas today, and yes I do ALL the lines."
"Blue Beetle" follows recent college grad Jaime Reyes who returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to find that home is not quite as he left it. As he searches to find his purpose in the world, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab.
When the Scarab suddenly chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he is bestowed with an incredible suit of armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the Super Hero Blue Beetle.
Inka is known to be the voice behind the Philippine Airlines' in-flight instructional safety announcement. She also has DJ and hosting experience, and hosts her own podcast "Sleeping Pill With Inka."
