Ice Seguerra pens touching letter to Alanis Morissette following her Manila concert

Ice Seguerra couldn’t help but express his gratitude for Alanis Morissette after their special meeting backstage, following the latter’s two-night concert at the Mall of Asia Arena.

On Instagram, Ice shared a lengthy post, looking back on how Alanis’ songs helped him during the different stages of his life.

“When I told you you were my hero, I wanted to let you know that 'Mary Jane' made me feel better during rough times in my teenage years,” he said.

“Perfect,” Ice said, was his “companion when I felt like I wasn’t good enough.” “You Learn” made him “feel like all the sh*t I had to endure made me stronger.”

“Now that I’m almost in my 40s, 'Thank You' sums up my gratitude for my life journey,” Ice continued.

“I have been singing your songs way before I had a music career, and since finding my way as a singer and musician, I have grown to appreciate your songs on a deeper level.”

He recalled being in the audience when Alanis first visited the country back in the '90s and mentioned how he saw her again in California a few years back.

"I bought concert tickets when it was announced that you were coming here. I just wanted to relive the songs that are a big part of my core. But I never thought I would open the concert and meet you,” he said.

Ice opened for Alanis in her two-night Manila concert held on August 1 and 2.

The shows finally took place after several postponements, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
