Fil-Am rapper Ez Mil signs with Eminem and Dr. Dre's music label
Ez Mil has joined Eminem and Dr. Dre’s music labels, Shady Records, Aftermath Entertainment, and Interscope Records.
The Filipino-American rapper joined the likes of 50 Cent as one of the few artists signed to all three labels.
According to a statement on the Shady Records website, Eminem first heard Ez Mil’s music online and then brought him to Dr. Dre.
“We’ve never been out there signing a lot of artists, and one of the great things about how we built Shady is how selective we’ve been,” Eminem said. “And it’s even rarer that Dre and I sign something together—but I heard Ez’s music and was like, ‘this is really special’ so I took it to Dre. We both agreed it would be a great fit and we wanted to work with him right on the spot.”
Eminem also shared Ez Mil’s “Up Down” music video on Twitter and wrote, “This is why we signed him[.]”
Dr. Dre added in the statement, “I’m really only interested in working on shit that sounds different from anything else going on out there, and only then if I feel I can really bring something to it. Em played me Ez and I had that feeling…that thing that happens when we both know we’ve found something special. And that was it….let’s get to work.”
For his first project under the label, Ez Mil is set to release “DU4LI7Y: REDUX,” the deluxe edition of his 2022 LP on August 11. The album includes a new single featuring Eminem, titled “Realest.”
Ez Mil, whose real name is Ezekiel Miller, was born in Olongapo but is currently based in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He rose to fame in 2021 for his viral hit, “Panalo (Trap Carinosa).” He was previously signed with Virgin Music.
