EXO's D.O. is an astronaut stranded in space in upcoming film 'The Moon'
A dream has come true for EXO member D.O.
The singer and actor, whose real name is Doh Kyung Soo, has been a longtime fan of space movies, and dreamed of “someday being able to work on a film set in space."
And now he stars in the upcoming film "The Moon," playing an astronaut stranded in space.
In a statement, Kyung Soo said that he joined the film because he found “the script to be excellent and wanted to challenge myself in expressing weightlessness with my body.”
He added that he hopes to vividly convey the various emotions that his character Hwang Sun Woo experiences, from the awe of setting foot on the moon for the first time to the fear of being left alone in the vastness of space and the unwavering determination to survive.
Kyung Soo previously starred in movies like "My Annoying Brother" and "Along with the Gods."
"The Moon" is an action-adventure film that follows Hwang Sun Woo, a former SEAL member and molecular physics major who joins the Narae-ho space program in Korea. He boards the spacecraft in pursuit of his father's unrealized dream but unexpectedly becomes the sole survivor of the expedition due to an unforeseen accident.
Directed by Kim Yong Hwa, "The Moon" opens in Philippine theaters on August 16. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
