Park Bo Gum, IU do the revived ice bucket challenge

An ice bucket challenge in 2023? No less than Park Bo Gum and IU are up for it!

According to a report by Cata Tibayan on "State of the Nation," the South Korean superstars participated in the challenge, which first surfaced online in 2014, to celebrate the construction of Korea’s first hospital for ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) patients.

In videos posted on their Instagram pages, they endured being soaked in ice cold water and encouraged their other celebrity friends to join.

Park Bo Gum and IU are set to star together in the upcoming drama "Thank You for Your Hard Work."

The story follows Ae Soon (IU) and Gwan Shi (Bo Gum), who were born on Jeju Island in the 1950s.

Park Bo Gum is popular for his roles in "Reply 1988," "Record of Youth," "Encounter," and "Love in the Moonlight." He was discharged from the South Korean military in April 2022 and has since appeared in various shows including the 58th Baeksang Awards.

IU, meanwhile, is a top Korean singer and has starred in several K-dramas, including "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo," "Hotel del Luna," and "Dream High." She is also behind popular songs like “Lilac,” “Bbibbi,” “Blueming,” and “Strawberry Moon." Last year, she kicked off a concert tour called "The Golden Hour: Under the Orange Sun."

She also featured in "People Pt. 2," a solo song by BTS member SUGA, also known as Agust D. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
