Check out Matt Lozano's dreamy voice in these awesome song covers
Last week, "Voltes V: Legacy" finally unveiled its ending song, "Chichi wo Motomete," with Matt Lozano's vocals. And Big Bert did not disappoint!
Many viewers were pleasantly surprised that the Sparkle actor has a beautiful voice. But Matt has always been a talented singer-songwriter—he joined and won the Spogify singing competition on "Eat Bulaga" in 2015.
Matt plays the guitar and has released three singles so far: "Walang Pipigil," "Kwarto," and "Liham." He also performed "Summer of Love," GMA's 2023 summer jingle, along with Lexi Gonzales, Sean Lucas, and Tanya Ramos.
Here are some of Matt's fun song covers that will make you fall in love with our Big Bert.
1. "In Your Atmosphere" by John Mayer
Matt showcased his skills in the fingerstyle guitar technique in this soulful performance of John Mayer's 2008 song, "In Your Atmosphere."
And of course, his dreamy voice is guaranteed to send you into eargasm!
2. "Ikaw Lang" by Nobita and "Prinsesa" by 6cyclemind
Matt brought the summer music festival vibes with his appearance in an NCAA event at San Sebastian College.
Even with two broken strings on his guitar, he had the crowd of students singing along at the top of their lungs to his performances of "Ikaw Lang" by Nobita" and "Prinsesa" by 6cyclemind.
3. "Harana" by Parokya ni Edgar
Care to be serenaded by Big Bert? This simple cover of Parokya ni Edgar's OPM classic, "Harana," just hits differently with Matt's smooth vocals.
Whether you want to sing along or just enjoy listening to Matt's singing and playing, you're sure to have a wonderful time.
4. Eraserheads medley: "With a Smile," "Overdrive," and "Pare Ko"
Just like Judy eventually fell in love with Big Bert, fans could not help but swoon over this medley of Eraserheads's iconic songs.
Everyone got kilig as Matt did his usual magic with his voice!
5. "Ikaw Nga" by Southborder
Big Bert got range!
In "Chichi wo Motomete," Matt showcased his deep voice to remain faithful to the original version performed by the late Ichiro Mizuki. But in this cover of "Ikaw Nga" by Southborder, he proved that he can hit those high notes. His falsettos were so on point!
With Matt's vocals, some fans are hoping that he will also sing in a "Voltes V: Legacy" scene. He was already shown fiddling with a guitar in his room, so it's certainly possible!
"Voltes V: Legacy" airs weekdays on GMA Telebabad at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." It is also livestreamed on the GMA Network YouTube channel and GMANetwork.com/KapusoStream.
