Olivia Rodrigo is back with angsty single 'Vampire'
Olivia Rodrigo is back with a new breakup anthem.
In the pop ballad called “Vampire,” Olivia sings about a guy who lied to her and bled her dry, and was ultimately bad for her. She even called him a “bloodsucker" and "fame f-cker.'
The music video showed the Filipina-American singer as a theater actress who runs away after an accident onstage.
Olivia talked a bit more about the song on Instagram.
“[Writing] this song helped me sort through lots of feelings of regret, anger, and heartache,” she said.
Olivia added that it is one of her favorite songs on the album and “felt very cathartic to finish.”
“I'm so happy it’s in your hands now and I hope it helps [you] deal with any bloodsuckers in your life,” she added.
Olivia has been teasing new music since January and will be releasing her second album “GUTS” in September.
Her debut album “SOUR” became a top hit with songs like “drivers license” and “good 4 u.” She went on her first tour in support of the album last year and also performed with Billy Joel in Madison Square Garden.
At the 2022 Grammys, Olivia was nominated for seven awards, and won Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album for “SOUR,” and Best Pop Solo Performance for “drivers license.” She was also named the 2022 Billboard Woman of the Year. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
