5 highlights of Bruno Mars' first night back in the Philippines

Five years after his last concert in the country, Bruno Mars has finally returned to the Philippines to serenade the Hooligans with his collection of heart-wrenching and nostalgic songs!

Here are five highlights from the first night of Bruno's long-awaited return to the country.

1. "Masaya akong makita kayo" introduction

There's no other fitting way to kick off the night than with Bruno showing off his Filipino roots with a Tagalog greeting!

Bruno had the entire Philippine Arena crowd screaming when he greeted his fans, "Masaya akong makita kayo," marking that it was officially show time!

2. Bruno's classic, smooth moves

We all know by now that Bruno is best known for his sweet-sounding, heaven-sent voice. But his performances don't end there.

To complete his stage performance, Bruno also brought his smooth moves back to the Philippines, captivating the hearts of the concertgoers even more.

From "24K Magic" to "Versace on the Floor," his sweet glides felt like a magnet, attracting the crowd to dance along.

That's what we like, Bruno!

3. The "Miss na kita mahal" twist

The award-winning artist surprised his fans with an adorable spin on his song "Calling All My Lovelies."

Midway through the song, Bruno was handed a very retro-looking gold phone and let out a few lines: "Hey baby, I'm in the Philippines right now. Y'know it's been a while, what has it been, four or five years since I've been here? But I still feel the same about you," which made the crowd scream, shriek, and shout, all combined together in a merged, loud sound.

The crowd grew even louder when he said, "Miss na kita, Mahal."

He repeated, "I said, miss na kita, mahal," proceeding to incorporate the exhilarating line into the song.

"That means 'I miss you,' girl," he added afterwards.

4. The door is left open for Filipino women

After singing his hit song "Leave the Door Open," Bruno shared what goes in his head when he performs the song.

"I have this fantasy in my head that when I sing that song, Filipino women will be screaming, 'I'm coming, Bruno! I'm coming!'" he said, giggling.

As cooperative as ever, female fans made Bruno's vision come to life, making him blush and say, "Stop, ladies, I'm shy."

5. An emotional "When I Was Your Man"

The crowd was overflowing with all the feels when Bruno started singing the iconic "When I Was Your Man."

Bruno also revealed that, up to this day, it is still the hardest song for him to sing. The reason why he said so is still unclear, but one thing is for sure: the emotional song will always make us feel heartbroken!

Bruno's return to the country is the fourth time that he has performed in the Philippines. Due to overwhelming demand, the singer opened a second night for the concert.

His previous visit in the country was in 2018 for his "24K Magic World Tour."
