The Weeknd drops new song with Jennie of BLACKPINK and Lily-Rose Depp
The Weeknd has released a new song featuring Jennie of BLACKPINK and Lily-Rose Depp.
Titled “One of the Girls (Tough Love),” the slow R&B track is part of the fourth episode of “The Idol,” the series which the three are starring in.
Jennie sings the intro and bridge, whereas The Weeknd and Lily alternate in the verses and chorus.
Dubbed "sleaziest love story in all of Hollywood," the HBO series follows Tedros (The Weeknd, or Abel Tesfaye), a self-help guru and cult leader who develops a complicated relationship with a rising pop idol, Jocelyn (Lily).
Jennie Ruby Jane plays Jocelyn’s backup dancer Dyanne. “The Idol” also stars Troye Sivan, Suzanna Son, and Steve Zissis.
The Weeknd was named the world’s most popular artist by Guinness World Records last May. He recently dropped a remix of his hit song “Die For You” with Ariana Grande.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK headlined Coachella this year. The group also had a two-night concert at the Philippine Arena last March.
Jennie was rumored to be cast in a Marvel film, but this was shut down by YG Entertainment. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
