'Voltes V: Legacy' merchandise sold at ToyCon event

Many fans of "Voltes V: Legacy" have been clamoring to have merchandise for the series, and it looks like their wish has come true!

According to Nelson Canlas's report on "24 Oras," Monday, "Voltes V: Legacy" merch were up for sale during a Toy Convention event last weekend.

Among items sold are mugs, shirts, and action figures as cast members Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, Raphael Landicho, and Elle Villanueva graced the event.

The four thanked fans for supporting the live action series, signed autographs, and gamely took selfies with event goers.

Matt, who plays Volt Panzer pilot Big Bert, shared that people recognize him now everywhere he goes.

"Kapag nasa labas ako ang tawag sa akin 'Voltes V!' Pero meron madalas naman usually tinatawag nila akong Big Bert. Nakakatuwa naman ang feeling ko kasi effective 'yung pagiging Big Bert ko," he said.

Elle, meanwhile, said she has mixed feelings as her character, Eva, is an adversary to Jamie (played by Ysabel Ortega), the pilot of Volt Lander.

This means that she is hated by many viewers for her role.

"Sa akin hindi ako tinatawag iniirapan lang ako," she said.

This year's ToyCon PH is scheduled on July 7-9 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

"Voltes V: Legacy" airs weekdays on GMA Telebabad at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." The series is also livestreamed on GMA Network's YouTube channel and at GMANetwork.com/KapusoStream.
