Hayley Williams posts throwback photo of her first industry friend, Taylor Swift
Hayley Williams got sentimental in her latest Instagram post.
The Paramore vocalist shared a throwback photo of Taylor Swift from her 21st birthday party. She said Taylor was “the first industry friend I ever made and hung out with outside of work things.”
The singer then looked back on the time when “Speak Now” was first released in 2010.
“I bought my friend’s record (as you do!) and listened to the whole thing in my first car, sitting still in the driveway. It’s my favorite Taylor Swift album for so many reasons,” Hayley said.
And now Hayley is set to appear on the new version of "Speak Now"! The pair collaborated on the track “Castles Crumbling.”
Hayley said she wishes she can go back to this moment on her 21st birthday and tell Taylor that "one day she’ll legitimately own ‘Speak Now’ and we’ll get to sing together on one of the songs."
Taylor has been re-recording her old albums amid a legal battle to gain ownership of her old songs. In 2021, she released the “Taylor’s Version” of the albums “Fearless” and “Red.”
Her most recent album “Midnights” came out in 2022. Taylor is currently on the Eras Tour, where Paramore joined her for shows in Arizona.
“Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” is out on July 7.
