Filipino drag queen Maxie secures Top 8 spot in 'Queen of the Universe' Season 2
The first two episodes of the second season of "Queen of the Universe" are now on Paramount+, and our Filipino drag queen representative Maxie is killing the game!
For the first two episodes, which aired last Saturday, the 10 competing queens from around the world, namely Aura Eternal, Chloe V, Jazell Royale, Love Masisi, Maxie, Militia Scunt, Taiga Brava, Trevor Ashley, Miss Strata, and Viola, performed one song each complemented by looks representative of their homeland.
Maxie performed "Do It Like A Dude" by Jessie J. While at it, she wore a one-piece silhouette featuring a butterfly sleeve on the right, and the colors of the Philippine flag splashed across the left side of her outfit.
After Maxie's jaw-dropping performance, Michelle Visage, one of the judges of "Queen of the Universe," had nothing to say to her other than, "She's a pop star!"
At the end of the first two episodes comprising the queens' performances, Chloe V and Miss Sistrata bowed out of the competition.
Maxie is still in the running to become the winner of "Queen of the Universe" Season 2. She is the only representative from the Philippines and Southeast Asia.
"Dati pangarap ko lang 'to, ngayon nakatungtong na ako at natutupad ko na 'yung pangarap ko. Sana 'wag niyo ako iwan sa labang 'to," Maxie told her fans during the viewing party of "Queen of the Universe" held in Empty Stomach last Saturday.
Streaming exclusively on Paramount+, "Queen of the Universe" is a singing competition for drag queens. The winner will take home a cash prize of $250,000.
