Even guys can't help but feel kilig over FiLay in 'Maria Clara at Ibarra'

“Maria Clara at Ibarra” remains one of the most-talked about Filipino series, for good reasons.

Aside from the meaningful plot, audiences can’t help but feel all giddy with Klay and Fidel’s love story.

In Aubrey Carampel’s report on “24 Oras,” Barbie Forteza and David Licauco said they are thankful that Team FiLay and the series continue to gain fans.

“Ang wide ng range ng of choice of films and series sa Netflix pero dito sa Pilipinas, ang number one, Filipino-made,” Barbie said.

“So nakaka-proud and part ako nu'n so nakakatuwa,” she added.

In fact, according to David, even guys can’t help but feel kilig with FiLay.

“May mga taong nag-approach sa akin [at sinasabing], ‘Uy napanood ko 'yung ‘Maria Clara’ sa Netflix in two days,” he said.

“So nakakakilig lang kasi lalaki pa 'yun e, so parang yeah — kahit lalaki siya, kinikilig daw siya sa amin ni Binibining Klay,” the Pambansang Ginoo added.

Maria Clara at Ibarra” follows Gen Z nursing student Klay, who time travels to the world of Jose Rizal’s novel, Noli Me Tangere.

It became the no. 1 title on Netflix Philippines when it premiered on the platform.
