Gab Chee Kee joins Parokya Ni Edgar on stage

Gab Chee Kee was finally able to join his band, Parokya Ni Edgar, on stage once again.

Vocalist Chito Miranda said that their guitarist was able to jam with them for two songs, namely "Your Song" and "Halaga," at a recent gig.

"[Don't] worry, nagpaalam sya sa doctor [niya], at may kasama [siyang] nurse buong time," Chito said on Instagram.

Chito talked more about the gig, and how he was concerned but also very happy to have Gab with them again.

"As a friend, I was honestly worried, and wanted him to rest, and to simply enjoy the show from the sidelines," the vocalist said.

"As a bandmate, it was an overwhelming experience. Sobrang saya lang ng feeling na naka-jam si Gab ulit... nakakakilabot," he added.

Chito assured fans that because of their help, Gab is on the road to a full recovery.

"Sabi ko nga, kung hindi n'yo kami tinulungan, wala na siguro si Gab ngayon... pero now, he's slowly getting his strength back, and is on his way to making a full recovery," he said.

"Mahaba pa ang laban, pero we are slowly, but surely, winning," Chito added.

Last January, it was revealed that Gab was hospitalized due to pneumonia, a complication brought on by his lymphoma. He was discharged in March.

Their friends in the industry helped raise funds, including an Eraserheads-signed guitar that sold for P1.3 million and Francis M's polo in the "Bagsakan" music video.

A fundraising gig titled Resbak Para Kay Gab featuring top OPM artists was held in March.
