Ash and Pikachu end 'Pokémon' journey after 26 years

Ash Ketchum and Pikachu have ended their "Pokémon" journey after almost 26 years.

In the final episode of "Pokémon Ultimate Journeys," Ash and Pikachu return to his hometown Pallet Town.

There, he meets his rival Gary and Team Rocket, and then reunites with his Pidgeot. Ash also reflects on his journey and eventually heads to his next adventure with Pikachu.

Back in November, Ash made many anime fans nostalgic after he finally became the very best when he won the world championship.

A new "Pokémon" series will begin in April, this time with two main characters named Liko and Roy. It is titled "Pokémon Horizons: The Series."

Pokémon first aired in 1997.
