Ebe Dancel serenades Parokya Ni Edgar’s Gab Chee Kee in the hospital

Parokya Ni Edgar’s Gab Chee Kee had a very special visitor in the hospital, and he was none other than Ebe Dancel.

On Facebook, Parokya shared a video of Dancel singing a cover of The Beatles’ “Across the Universe.” Ebe also cracked a joke toward the end of the video.

“May bumisita kay Gab, medyo masungit. Hehe Labyu Ebe Dancel!” Parokya wrote.

Gab’s condition has improved and he was transferred to a regular room.

“Konti na lang at makakalabas na rin siya ng hospital!” the band said in a Facebook update.

“May cancer pa rin siya, so tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang laban para makasama na namin siya on the stage soon! Laban pa Gab! Kayang-kaya yan!” Parokya added.

In January, Parokya Ni Edgar vocalist Chito Miranda revealed Gab had been hospitalized due to pneumonia, a complication brought on by his lymphoma.

Their friends in the industry came together to raise funds, including the Eraserheads who signed a guitar for an auction that raised P1.3 million.

A fundraising gig titled Resbak Para Kay Gab, featuring top OPM artists, is also set for March 4. Ebe is one of the performers. — LA, GMA Integrated News
