Genshin Impact cuts ties with Elliot Gindi, voice actor of Tighnari, amid misconduct allegations
Genshin Impact has announced Thursday that its in-game character Tighnari will no longer be dubbed by Elliot Gindi.
The announcement came after numerous reports of Gindi’s misconduct have surfaced over several days, which allegedly include transphobic behavior and the grooming of underage Genshin Impact fans and players.
“After communications with the voice recording agency, we hereby confirm that Elliot Gindi, the English voice actor for Tighnari will no longer be voicing the character in subsequent versions due to a breach of contract,” the hit role-playing game posted on its social media pages.
They added that they are in the process of casting a new voice actor and re-recording the character's lines.
“We will gradually replace Tighnari's existing in-game voice lines, and issue these updates in the corresponding announcements,” they said.
Gindi voiced Tighnari since the character was introduced in August 2022.
