BELIFT LAB flags unauthorized ENHYPEN event in Manila

BELIFT LAB has flagged an unauthorized ENHYPEN event titled "Enhafestival: Day 1" scheduled on Saturday in Manila.

In a statement on Thursday, the music label said the event is "being held without any discussions with our company."

BELIFT LAB advised ENGENEs, the fans of ENHYPEN, to avoid getting "adversely affected" by the paid event.

"This is an unauthorized paid event that sold tickets by using the content of BELIFT LAB without our authorization. If the event host pushes ahead with this event, we will take legal actions for infringement of intellectual property," the statement read.

"BELIFT LAB assumes no responsibility for any damage resulting from the event," it added. "We will continue to work to ensure that the rights of our artists are fully protected."

According to the Enhafestival's Facebook page, the event is a photo exhibition and fan gathering to be held on Avida Towers Centera Clubhouse in Mandaluyong City.

The event has now been cancelled by the organizers, who released a lengthy statement on Thursday explaining their discussions with BELIFT's legal representatives.

"We have reiterated countless times that Enhafestival: Day 1 or now called as Always Together: The Festival is a harmless, fan-organized, non-profit event, created to promote ENHYPEN and for the enjoyment of ENGENEs, something that has been similarly done over the year by many fandoms," the statement read.

However, the organizers said they received a cease and desist order from BELIFT's legal representatives on Wednesday.

"We regret to say that this is not the response we expected from BELIFT LAB and we are deeply disappointed that we did not get the same treatment as other similar existing fan projects and those that have already been concluded," they said.

The organizers said they will contact attendees regarding compensation and that they will do their best to work on an "amicable solution." They also released a financial report of their expenditures, registration fees, and sponsorships.

"We sincerely apologize for the confusion and distress this issue has brought to ENGENEs. Thank you for understanding," they said.

ENHYPEN recently visited Manila for a fan meet. The group will return to the Philippines in February for a three-day concert.

Composed of Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon, and Ni-ki, ENHYPEN is popular for their songs "Polaroid Love," "Fever," "Drunk-Dazed," and "Future Perfect."
