Ebe Dancel to celebrate 20th anniversary of Sugarfree's 'Sa Wakas' with a gig

Ebe Dancel will be bringing the nostalgia to this upcoming gig.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Sugarfree’s album, “Sa Wakas,” the band’s former frontman — with the special participation of their first drummer Mitch Singson — will perform an all-Sugarfree set on January 28. The gig will be held at 123 Block, Mandala Park in Mandaluyong City.

“We're turning 123 Block into a campus-themed fair for more throwback vibes,” Ebe said on Twitter.

Guest performances will be by The Itchyworms, Cheats, Johnoy Danao, and more.

Tickets are available through backspacerrecords.com. They are priced at P1,300 for regular and P1,800 for VIP which includes a meet and greet and signed poster. According to the website, the packages consisting of a VIP ticket and one of Ebe’s vinyl records are now sold out.

One of the top OPM rock bands, Sugarfree disbanded in 2011. “Sa Wakas” is their debut album released in 2003, which features the songs “Burnout,” “Mariposa,” and “Telepono.”

Ebe continued on as a solo artist. He released the four-track EP “Habangbuhay” in 2022, both digitally and on vinyl. The compilation is inspired by weddings. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
