Tracy Maureen Perez gets minimalist tattoos to honor late mom
Tracy Maureen Perez finally got her first tattoos, and they're all very special.
For her first inks, the industrial engineer and beauty queen knew just what she wanted.
"I just knew in my heart that my very first tattoo would be for my Mommy Chona, anything that's about her and for her," she said.
Tracy is an only child and was raised by a single mom who passed away in 2010, according to the Miss World website.
Tracy has now got three minimalist tats on her arms, one bearing the word "Mom" in script, another is an outline of a woman holding a rose, and the last one is an outline of a cat.
Miss World Philippines 2021 said in her Instagram caption that she's always wanted a tattoo but never got around to getting one.
"I would oftentimes tell myself in the past, 'oh I would only get my first tattoo when I accomplish something truly remarkable or when I've become really successful in my chosen careers/ventures' but I realized, there really is no perfect time! It's either you do it or you don't at all!" Tracy said.
She was also accompanied by her loved ones during the tattoo session.
"In my books, as long as it truly means something to you, as long as it's something that expresses yourself and your art, or simply a reminder about important milestones in your life, by all means—go for it," she said.
