'Naruto' creator Masashi Kishimoto to draw short manga based on winner of character poll
Are you a "Naruto" fan? Do you have a favorite character you would love to know more about, now that the original series has ended?
You're in luck, because "Naruto" creator Masashi Kishimoto is going to draw a short manga based on the winner of character popularity poll "Narutop 99" this December!
According to a report on Anime News Network, the worldwide poll is held in celebration of the anime series' 20th anniversary.
"We're calling all fans across the globe to decide who is the #1 Naruto character. The number of entries for this worldwide popularity vote totals an astounding 488 characters," the event website read.
"Will you vote for the best ninja, the strongest ninja, or perhaps the ninja you just love the most? We'll leave that up to you. With a worldwide vote like this, it's impossible to predict the results!
Fans can place their vote once per day on the Narutop 99 website from December 17 to December 31. The results will be released in April 2023.
The "Naruto" manga was first released in 1999 and ended serialization in 2014. It was adapted into an anime series in 2002.
It follows a young ninja named Naruto Uzumaki, who dreams of becoming a Hokage, the leader of the Hidden Village of the Leaf.
A spin-off and sequel following Naruto's son, Boruto, began in 2016.
