Hayao Miyazaki to release new film 10 years after 'The Wind Rises'

We're getting another film from Hayao Miyazaki after 10 years!

Studio Ghibli on Tuesday shared a promotional poster for the legendary Japanese animator's latest film, "Kimi-tachi wa Do Ikiru ka."

According to a report on Anime News Network, the film, tentatively titled "How Do You Live?" in English, will premiere in Japan on July 14, 2023.

Miyazaki declared his intention to retire from producing feature films in 2013, but he eventually began working on "How Do You Live?" in 2016.

He officially revealed the project in 2017.

The film's title is based on Genzaburo Yoshino's novel of the same name published in 1937. Miyazaki said the book's story holds meaning for the protagonist of his film.

Miyazaki's last film, "The Wind Rises," was released in 2013. Its title was also based on a Japanese novel written by Tatsuo Hori.

Among Miyazaki's iconic works include "Spirited Away," "My Neighbor Totoro," "Howl's Moving Castle," and "Princess Mononoke."
