'Hearts on Ice' star Xian Lim passes skating proficiency test
Xian Lim is taking his figure skating to the next level!
The Kapuso actor happily shared on Instagram, Thursday, that he has passed a skating proficiency test after four months of training.
Posting a video of him in action on the ice rink, Xian said he initially thought it would be far-fetched for him to learn a skill this late. The actor is 33 years old.
"Watching other skaters with years of experience, the initial reaction is... wow, this is impossible for me to learn. But to want something you never had, you have to do something you've never done," he said.
Xian took up skating to prepare for upcoming GMA series "Hearts on Ice," in which he will star alongside Ashley Ortega.
He threw himself enthusiastically into the sport, buying his own skates and sharing his progress on social media. He also met two-time Olympic figure skater Michael Martinez at the rink.
"It wasn't easy. And I fell. A lot," Xian said. "But with enough perseverance and the people who believed in me, I kept going."
"Today, I took my Pre Alpha - Delta test, I passed. Congratulations, self."
Well done, Xian!
