'The Princess Diaries' is getting a third movie at Disney

You don't have to wonder anymore as "The Princess Diaries" 3 is currently in the works!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney is reportedly developing a continuation story of the Anne Hathaway-starrer films, but sources say that Hathaway hasn't confirmed getting on board yet. However, the actress publicly expressed her interest in doing the movie if there was a chance.

"I would more than entertain it, I'm pulling for it. If there's any way to get Julie Andrews involved, I think we would make it work," Hathaway told Entertainment Tonight.

Disney hasn't disclosed any further details other than Aadrita Mukerji is currently writing the screenplay for "The Princess Diaries 3."

Hathaway first starred in "The Princess Diaries" in 2001, which follows the story of an awkward teenager turned heir to the throne of the European kingdom of Genovia. It was followed by "The Princess Diaries 2," where Mia trains to become a queen while finding the right man by her side.

In 2019, Hathaway confirmed the existence of the screenplay of "The Princess Diaries 3" and said they "all want to make it happen."
