'Squid Game' star Jung Ho Yeon talks about visiting Boracay, trying sinigang and crispy pata
Jung Ho Yeon is enjoying her stay in Manila for her fan meet, which just wrapped up on Friday night.
As seen in Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras," Friday, the Korean actress and model looked at ease as she spoke fluent English during their one-on-one interview.
"I know that when I had this success of 'Squid Game' I realized I have lots of fans, like audience in Philippines. So I thought that I could meet them," she said.
"So happy that many kind of country, people, can have a chance to know what Koreans like and what's Korean food and culture is like," she added.
Ho Yeon said this was not her first trip to the Philippines, as she previously came with her father, who is a scuba diver, and their family.
"He always brought us to Philippines to do scuba dive so we go on boat," he said. "I think we went to Boracay. It was beautiful."
She also tried Filipino food such as sinigang and crispy pata, which she both liked and found to be delicious.
Ho Yeon rose to fame for her role as Kang Sae Byok or Player 067 in "Squid Game." It was her first acting project.
She won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series and also received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
