Lin-Manuel Miranda is Hermes in the upcoming 'Percy Jackson' series


Lin-Manuel Miranda is joining the Percy Jackson universe!

The "Hamilton" creator has been announced to play the role of Hermes, in the upcoming "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" on Disney+.

In Greek mythology, Hermes is the divine trickster, protector of travelers, and messenger of the gods.

 

 

 

Aside from his work in theater, the Tony, Grammy, and Emmy winner has worked with Disney several times before. He is best known for being behind the soundtrack for films like “Moana” and “Encanto,” plus the upcoming live-action “The Little Mermaid.” Lin-Manuel also starred in “Mary Poppins Returns.”

The “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” book series is a modern, relatable take on Greek mythology. A release date for the live-action TV show is yet to be announced by Disney+.
