Netflix drops teaser for 'First Love' series inspired by Hikaru Utada's songs

Netflix just dropped the teaser for its upcoming Japanese series, "First Love," inspired by the songs of J-pop superstar Hikaru Utada.

Based on the songs "First Love" released in 1999 and "Hatsukoi" released in 2018, the story follows a couple retracing the memories of their romance.

It spans over 20 years, starting in the late 90s, to the 2000s, and the present.

The series stars Takeru Satoh and Hikari Mitsushima, who will play the older versions of the couple.

In the teaser, the couple seems to be high school sweethearts. The boy eventually becomes an air force pilot, while the girl becomes a flight attendant.

"Is there anyone you'd want to see again?" a voice over says at the end.

"First Love" will be available for streaming on Netflix starting November 24.
