Taylor Swift shares story behind upcoming collaboration song with Lana Del Rey
Taylor Swift took the internet by storm when announced her collaboration with Lana Del Rey titled “Snow on the Beach.”
In an Instagram Reel, Taylor talked more about the story behind the upcoming track, which will be included in her new album "Midnights."
“The song is about falling in love with someone at the same time as they're falling in love with you, sort of in this sort of cataclysmic faded moment where you realize someone feels exactly the same way that you feel at the same moment,” the singer-songwriter said.
Taylor said that this moment would be a surreal one, like a dream, something hard to believe, or “kind of like if you were to see snow falling on the beach.”
Calling herself “a massive fan of Lana Del Rey,” Taylor said, “[she,] in my opinion, is one of the best musical artists ever.”
“The fact that I get to exist at the same time as her is an honor and a privilege. And the fact that she would be so generous as to collaborate with us on this song is something I'm going to be grateful for for life. I absolutely love her," she added.
Before ending her short video, Taylor said, “I really hope you love this song as much as I do.”
Composed of 13 songs, Taylor said that "Midnights" contains "the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout [her] life." It will be released on October 21. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA News
