Netflix drops premiere date of 'Wednesday' and it's not on Halloween

We're going to have to wait past Halloween to see the newest version of the Addams family.

Netflix revealed the premiere date of "Wednesday" through a poster, and it's on November 23.

Fans were a little disappointed with the news, as many thought an October release would be perfect for the series based on the iconic work of Tim Burton.

Perhaps as a treat to fans, Netflix released a teaser clip of Wednesday Addams speaking to Thing, a disembodied human hand.

"Our first order of business is to escape this teenage purgatory. Of course I have a plan. And it begins now," she says.

"Wednesday" follows her years at Nevermore Academy, where she tries to master her psychic abilities, prevent a monstrous killing spree that has been terrorizing their town, and solve the supernatural mystery that involved her parents 25 years ago.

The title character is played by Jenna Ortega, while Catherine Zeta-Jones is Morticia Addams. Luis Guzmán is Gomez and Isaac Ordonez is Pugsley.

Christina Ricci, who memorably played Wednesday in the early '90s, is also part of the cast in an undisclosed role.
