83-year-old man becomes oldest person to climb Mt. Apo

An 83-year-old man just became the oldest person to climb the Philippines' highest peak.

According to a “24 Oras” report citing the tourism office of Sta. Cruz, Davao Del Sur on Tuesday, Pascacio Carcedo reached the top of the 2,954-meter Mount Apo last Sunday—definitely not an easy feat for anyone.

To prepare, Carcedo trained by climbing three smaller mountains in Sta. Cruz.

Earning this milestone, Carcedo said he is nothing but grateful to the guides who helped him succeed. The Sta. Cruz Tourism Office identified them as Lito Palao and Armel Senedo of the Sta. Cruz Mount Apo Guides Association.
