Gal Gadot 'so delighted' to play the Evil Queen in upcoming live-action 'Snow White'
Who is the fairest one of all? It’s definitely these two actresses from Disney’s live-action “Snow White” film.
Gal Gadot and Rachel Zegler, who were previously announced to be two of the film’s stars, were present at the D23 Expo to share a quick teaser of the film.
Rachel plays Snow White, whereas Gal will be the Evil Queen.
Gadot said that the role was “very different" than what she was used to playing.
"I am used to playing the other end of where the heart should be," she was quoted as saying in a report on Deadline.
However, she added that she was "so delighted" to be portraying the iconic villain.
Gadot is best known for her role as Wonder Woman in the DC film franchise. Meawhile, Rachel impressed audiences with her film debut performance in Baz Luhrmann’s “West Side Story,” playing the lead role of Maria.
Snow White is called the first Disney princess, as the animated film “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was released in 1937. The live-action remake premieres in cinemas in 2024.
It will be directed by Marc Web, who did “500 Days of Summer” and “The Amazing Spider-Man” movies.
Benj Pasek and Justin Paul of “La La Land,” “The Greatest Showman,” and “Dear Evan Hansen” are writing original songs for the film.
More exciting films unveiled at the expo include the live-action “Peter Pan and Wendy,” which premieres next year on Disney Plus, and the prequel “Mufasa: The Lion King,” premiering in 2024. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA News
