Watch life under the sea in first 'The Little Mermaid' live-action trailer

The much-awaited teaser trailer for the live-action “The Little Mermaid” film is finally here and it did not disappoint!

We get the first glimpse of life under the sea, made magical by incredible special effects.

Actress Halle Bailey also delivers a soulful rendition of “Part of Your World."

Her best friend Flounder, voiced by Jacob Tremblay, is also seen swimming by her side.

The Disney classic follows the young Ariel, who longs for adventure and life outside the sea. When she makes a deal with the sea witch Ursula to exchange her mermaid tail for human legs, she puts her life in danger.

The original animated film was released in 1989.

Directed by Rob Marshall, "The Little Mermaid" is set to premiere in 2023. It also features Daveed Diggs as the voice of Sebastian, Awkwafina as the voice of Scuttle, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Art Malik as Sir Grimsby, Noma Dumezweni as Queen Selina, and Javier Bardem as King Triton. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA News
