'Mula sa Buwan' postpones closing shows due to COVID-19 exposure
“Mula sa Buwan,” the famed Filipino musical, has postponed its closing shows “with deep regret” due to a member of their team testing positive for COVID-19.
The closing shows were originally set for September 9 to 11. The new schedule will be on September 16 to 18.
“We know that many of you have traveled far, braved the rains, and made arrangements just to step foot on the moon with us,” said their statement on Twitter. “Unfortunately, our most feared circumstance happened today. One member of the team has tested positive for COVID-19-- leaving the rest exposed.”
For the actors, crew, and audience members’ safety, the company "had to make an executive decision at 3:45PM [on Friday] to cancel and move [their] remaining show dates.”
The statement added that the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Circuit Makati was locked down that same day for sanitation and disinfection.
“We sincerely apologize for the late notice and the inconvenience that this situation has caused. As much as we have hoped to share this story of love and defiance with you, we hold the safety of our company and audiences as a top priority,” they said.
They also assured their audiences that they will be having ticket refunds for those who cannot make it to the rescheduled shows, and thanked them for their understanding and support.
