Moonstar88 releases hugot anthem 'Next Week'
Moonstar88 has released another hugot anthem.
Called “Next Week,” the song is a plea for a significant other to put off a breakup — hoping that by next week, they will be more ready and the heartbreak will be less painful.
The OPM band drew inspiration from stories found on social media about bargaining with lovers to postpone their break up, because they would not be able to handle the sudden loss.
According to a statement, guitarist Herbert Hernandez started writing the song in 2017, and was only able to finish it by collaborating with his bandmate from 6cyclemind, Ryan Sarmiento.
It is the first single from the band’s upcoming album “Lourdes 2088,” to be released under Warner Music Philippines.
Moonstar88 is a multi-awarded female-fronted pop-alternative band composed of Maysh Baay on vocals, Herbert Hernandez on guitars, Buddy Zabala on bass, and Bon Sundiang on drums.
They are behind OPM classics “Torete” and “Migraine" and are top-billed at sold-out concerts locally and internationally.
“Next Week” is now available on all digital streaming platforms. —Nika Roque.JCB, GMA News
