Pinay actress Lourdes Faberes earns praise for performance in 'The Sandman'

Filipina actress Lourdes Faberes earned praises from Pinoy fans after her memorable stint as Kate Fletcher in "The Sandman."

Lourdes appeared in Episode 5 titled "24/7," which is widely acclaimed as the best episode of the series.

In a tweet by vlogger Jerald Uy hailing the episode, Lourdes replied and graciously thanked him for saying that it deserves an Emmy nomination.

Pinoy fans were thrilled to find out Lourdes is Filipino and to read her tweet in Tagalog.

In the comments, she received many plaudits for her performance as Kate, one of the customers stuck in the diner, where most of Episode 5 takes place.

"The Sandman" is currently at no. 3 on Netflix Philippines' Top 10 TV shows. Neil Gaiman had an adorable reaction after learning of this fact, as the British author is very proud of the series' success.

"The Sandman" is a live action adaptation of Neil's iconic graphic novel of the same name. The show stars Tom Sturridge as Dream of the Endless, who lords over the realm of dreams and nightmares.
