Julie Anne San Jose and Gary V release collaboration single 'Di Ka Akin'

Julie Anne San Jose just reached another milestone — she released a new song with one of her biggest inspirations, Gary V.

Titled “Di Ka Akin,” the OPM pop ballad is about a complicated relationship that is bound to end, but they still long for each other.

It’s a different song from what Mr. Pure Energy usually does. He comes in with his soulful vocals in the second verse, then blends seamlessly with Julie Anne. The two stars make an amazing pair as they sing ad-libs in the bridge.

“I wrote this song last year and it has finally come to life. Still feels surreal.. collaborating with @garyvalenciano is definitely a dream come true,” Julie Anne said on Instagram.

Gary V similarly has nothing but praises for Asia's Pop Diva.

“I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to deliver because it’s a totally new sound from what I’m used to doing, but it’s a sound of today,” the OPM legend said in a video posted by Universal Records Philippines.

“I must say that that’s actually what made me say yeah, why not. Because it wasn’t just a good song—that’s given already—but it’s also with an excellent artist. And I cannot afford to miss opportunities like these because they don’t come very often,” he added.
