‘Drag Race Philippines’ unveils queens


Start your engines! “Drag Race Philippines” has unveiled the 12 fabulous queens competing in the show’s first season.

They were introduced in a series of Instagram posts as well as videos on the WOWPresents and discovery+ Philippines YouTube channels.

Brigiding is from Mandaluyong, and has had bonggang performances in Thailand, Vietnam, London, Sydney, Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago. In her video, she said her performances were always high energy and on the next level.

Corazon is the fighting beauty queen from Bolinao, Pangasinan. She is a makeup artist and has a gown rental shop for beauty pageant enthusiasts.

Eva Le Queen is the cool drag tita. Her name comes from “evil queen” and is inspired by strong, dark, female energy which she translates into her drag.

Gigi Era is the buwis-buhay queen. Based in Melbourne, Australia, and originally from Davao City, she works hard and levels up her performances in order to get good jobs and be respected.

Lady Morgana is energetic, fierce, very susyal, and has been doing drag for almost 17 years.

Marina Summers used to work as a post producer for an advertising company, but is now pursuing her other job as a stunning superstar.

Minty Fresh describes herself as GGSS or “gandang ganda sa sarili,” whose drag aesthetic is hyper-feminine.

Precious Paula Nicole is a Bicolana queen from Camarines Norte. Her drag name came from “Drag Race Philippines” host Paolo Ballesteros who had used the name in a TV show. Her drag mothers told her they looked similar. She impersonates Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Regine Velasquez, Katy Perry, and Madonna, but can do original performances as well.

Prince from Laguna has an out-of-this-world, extraterrestrial drag style because she loves video games growing up.

Turing is the big, bold, and beautiful queen from Rizal. She is a brilliant and passionate performer.

Viñas DeLuxe calls herself the Pambansang Bunganga ng Pilipinas whose loud personality makes her stand out. She makes and sells her own wigs too.

Xilhouete is a drag mother, filmmaker, and artist. From being a female impersonator, she is now in drag as a feisty, profound, and meticulous queen.

Hosted by Paolo Ballesteros, the Pinoy version of the popular reality show will premiere on Aug. 17 through Discovery+, HBO GO, and WOWPresents Plus. Jiggly Caliente and KaladKaren are two of the show’s judges. – RC, GMA News
