MMFF 2022 unveils first 4 official entries
Metro Manila Film Festival has revealed the first four films in its lineup this year.
On Friday, MMFF 2022 unveiled its first four official entries based on script submission:
1. “Labyu With An Accent” by ABS-CBN Film Productions, which stars Coco Martin and Jodi Sta. Maria and is directed by Rodel Nacianceno and written by Patrick Valencia;
2. “Nanahimik Ang Gabi” by Rein Entertainment Productions, which stars Ian Veneracion, Mon Confiado and Heaven Peralejo, and is written and directed by Shugo Praico;
3. “Partners In Crime” by ABS-CBN Film Productions, which stars Vice Ganda and Ivana Alawi and is directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina and written by Enrico C. Santos; and
4. “The Teacher” by TEN17P, which stars Joey de Leon and Toni Gonzaga and is directed by Paul Soriano and written by Emma Villa.
According to MMFF, the selection committee members led by Boots Anson-Roa Rodrigo and Jesse Ejercito chose the top four scripts based on the following criteria: artistic excellence, 40%; commercial appeal, 40%; Filipino cultural sensibility, 10% ; and global appeal, 10%. – RC, GMA News
